About Me
Moving to the Gold Coast in 2000, Wendy List established her Colour
Workshops to share the extensive knowledge of colour she acquired
as a graduate of the Sydney School of Colour and Design. Subsequently
studying Environmental Colour, she has applied her colour skills to
creating colour schemes for domestic and corporate clients.
Wendy List also conducts Gilding classes on the Gold Coast having exhibited and sold many of her works in exhibitions in Sydney. She studied this ancient craft with Jennifer Bennell at the Painted Finish, in the 1980s. Teaching at Art Studios on the Gold Coast, Tweed River Art Gallery at Murwillumbah, the GraftonArtsFest and at the USQ McGregor Winter Campus Toowoomba, she has enormous enthusiasm and an empathy for those “beginners” who need lots of encouragement. She delights in the creation of self-confidence which assists students to embark on their artistic journeys with new purpose. More advanced students have the opportunity to renew their creative spirit and look at their colour palettes in fresh way. Her gilding classes have attracted many artists and calligraphers wishing to include this “ancient” skill in the techniques they can apply to their work. Apart from workshopping, Wendy List also paints, gilds and does commissions from her studio in the Hinterland of the Gold Coast. She is Secretary of the Australian Society of Miniature Art (Qld) and a member of Artworkers, Queensland's peak body for visual artists. She exhibited her gilded watercolours in a group exhibition at the Private Gallery in April 2003 and several of her works were shown at the International Miniature Exhibition and Awards at the Gold Coast Art Gallery, in August 2003, 2004 and 2005.
